Two years back Canon decided to give its best to make a high shutter speed camera, the result was Canon EOS 5D Mark II, the only comment is that they certainly succeeded. This digital camera is not only capable of high shutter speeds, there are numerous improvements compared to its predecessor and other competitors on the market, so let’s take a look at all the new things that Canon EOS 5D Mark II offers.

The first thing everyone immediately took notice of was the jump in resolution, Canon EOS 5D Mark II operates with 21.1 megapixel full frame CMOS sensor, which is 8.3 megapixels more than its predecessor. The new sensor is the same that Canon has in EOS 1D Mark III, but with several improvements, all for the better.
Another great thing is that Canon EOS 5D Mark two is the second digital camera in line to have the DIGIC IV image processor. The new processor enables new processing features like lens peripheral illumination correction and of course dealing with 21 megapixels of data. The Canon EOS 5D has improved ISO sensibility range going from 100 to 6400 with expansion of ISO 50 to ISO 25600.
Canon EOS 5D Mark II has continuous shooting rate of 3.9 frames per second. What you will be surprised to hear is that EOS 5D Mark II has movie recording in live view. This digital camera can record a maximum of 12 minutes video in 1920 x 1080 resolution or 24 minutes in VGA. At 1920 x 1080 the bitrate is 38.6 Mbits/sec and at 640 x 480 the bitrate is 17.3 Mbits/sec, the maximum file size is 4 GB. EOS 5D Mark II has a 3 inch Clear View LCD monitor with 920,000 pixels, the same that Sony DSLR-A700 has, but EOS 5D Mark II has three layers of anti-reflective material.

The other improvements are:
- Reduced micro lens gap
- Auto ISO in all modes except manual
- No mirror flip in Live View with Contrast AF
- EOS Integrated Cleaning System
- Automatic LCD brightness control
- Built-in Microphone and Speaker
- 98% coverage viewfinder
- RAW available in Auto mode
- Quick Control screen
- Creative Auto Mode
- Refreshed user interface
- Image processing features
Canon EOS 5D Mark II is of course made of magnesium alloy and has a fine grip. It supports the following file formats: RAW, JPEG, RAW + JPEG and sRAW1, sRAW2. One thing that bothers some is that EOS 5D Mark II comes with no flash unit, so you will have to buy one extra, that is if you don’t already have a flash that fits the latest EOS series. This digital camera weights 810 grams without a battery, making it one of the lighter cameras out there.
Canon EOS 5D Mark II body only goes from $2,650 to $3,400, so this is reserved for professionals or people that are in love with photography. Anyone wishing a high quality professional camera will not be sad to part with this amount of money to get EOS 5D Mark II, as this digital camera is worth every penny. You can of course find the best price for your new digital camera right here on Price Compare.

When I first heard about Telstra’s T-Hub I thought to myself that iPad was recently released, so what’s this all about now? I mean there is not a chance in Hell that Telstra is going to compete with Apple and my thought turned out to be correct, they didn’t try to compete with Apple or their new iPad, it just looked like that for a brief second. Their new product, T-Hub, is a totally different entity, so let’s cover all the things the new Telstra gadget can do.

At first glance this gizmo looks like a combination between a normal landline phone, a cell phone and a notepad. Well in fact that is exactly what it is, also the notepad has some limited capabilities, but hey, if we want to talk about limited capabilities we will talk about iPad. The first benefit of T-Hub is that its wireless, so you can place it anywhere around the house. You have Telstra wireless internet connection, for that you have a miniature version of a notepad, only this tablet gizmo has preset capabilities. You can’t install new software, yet, and you can’t browse a site you chose. The 7 inch LCD touch screen is your connection to several interesting social sites and amusing options.

The LCD screen features a really easy to use menu from which you can connect to YouTube, Twitter or Facebook with one touch of your finger. Another benefit is the SMS feature of your new home phone. You can send text messages to a cell phone or a land phone that uses Telstra network. But in addition to that you have a calendar, a radio station so you can turn this little gizmo into a clock radio if you want. When you look at it you get a phone that always plays music or even plays videos. Of course the greatest benefit of this is the easy to use LCD screen that allows you all these options, you can have all your contacts stored in there and you don’t need to scroll endlessly like you would on a normal home phone. T-Hub also connects to a network and allows you easy access to Yellow pages for everything you need and also to White pages.
You can also have a slideshow on your T-Hub; it supports all known formats, so you can use it as a family frame with all the family favorite photos while listening to your favorite songs, but all that of course is separately from talking on your new wonder of a phone.
All in all the only benefit people may see in Telstra’s new T-Hub is the easy connect to social media sites like Facebook and Twitter. I personally don’t see too much point to it, a home phone is a phone, we all know what it’s used for and T-Hub doesn’t bring anything we don’t have already on our cell phones. I had all those functions on my cell 3 years ago, so it feels like they missed it on this one, but hey, time will tell. The release date is set for tomorrow, 20th April, so let’s hold our thumbs up, at least they tried, which is more than I can say for many other companies.

Look out for T-Hub on price compare, maybe there will be something useful in the future. After all this looks like a prototype which can be enhanced over and over again.

Another Canon digital camera from the EOS series is finally out and that is Canon EOS 7D. Now most people will think this is just another replacement for the Canon EOS 50D, well in fact it’s not. On the first glance it may appear so, but when you look at this digital camera closely you will be very pleased to find out that this is actually 50D’s big brother with many improvements. Anyway, however you look at it, Canon EOS 7D is not a replacement for 50D, but a brand new addition to the EOS family that brings its own name to the table along the great ones.

Now the first thing everyone will notice is the 19 megapixel resolution, well the ones this camera is intended for, and those are professional and aspiring photographers, will first notice the camera was built around the brand new 18MP sensor. Of course the thing that sticks out is the amazing new viewfinder. There is 100% coverage, so that is a great improvement from 95% or 97% models, no need to worry about that anymore. Now except for those features that are easily noticeable, Canon EOS 7D has more improvements compared to 50D, there is a brand new AF with a new dedicated processor and new shutter mechanism. So those are all big changes that are more or less easily noticeable, but it doesn’t end there, Canon EOS 7D has dozen of minor changes that first seem of little importance, but in fact every professional knows they are the key to the exquisite photographs we see in galleries.
So at the first glance when you take Canon EOS 7D in your hands you will notice these extraordinary features:
- 18MP APS-C CMOS sensor
- 8 frames per second continuous shooting
- 1080p HD video recording with manual controls
- 3.0 inch Clear View II LCD screen with 920,000 dots
- 19-point AF system (all cross-type)
- 1.0x magnification and 100% coverage viewfinder
- Wireless flash control
- Environmental sealing
- Magnesium alloy body material
- Dual DIGIC 4 image processor
You can expect great image sizes going from 2592 x 1728 to 5184 x 3456 for RAW image and 2592 x 1728 to 5184 x 3456 fro JPEG. For movies and the DSLR mode you can expect resolution from 640 x 480 to amazing 1920 x 1080, full HD resolution. Of course dust reduction, bunch of AF modes and even metering modes make this digital camera magnificent, but every photographer that held a Canon in his arms will immediately feel familiar with this model. It has a quite fine grip and a good feel when held, and to top everything off this digital camera is waterproof, perfect for rainy days.

Canon EOS 7D is a remarkable camera that brought us many new things at an astonishing level, one that other companies will strive to catch up with soon. So it’s actually a surprise that Canon didn’t make a weird high price. The price of Canon EOS 7D is in the range of similar camera, the body goes from $1,500 to $2,500. Well you can get a better feel for the prices here on price compare, and who knows; maybe you will soon become a proud owner of this amazing digital camera.

Last time we reviewed Nikon D90, but here is a review of Canon’s response with a better camera for an even lower amount. What we are talking about is Canon EOS 500D / Digital Rebel T1i Digital Camera with 18-55mm lens. Canon EOS 500D is an extension of Canon digital family, just above 450D. When we compare it with Nikon D90 that we reviewed, it’s better in almost every aspect, from resolution to much higher quality DSLR movie mode. For those that have Canon EOS 450D they will be glad to know that if they decide to purchase Canon EOS 500D, all of the accessories from 450D will fit on 500D.

First thing that you will notice is that Canon EOS 500D is slightly redesigned in comparison to 450D, it’s a more oriented for larger hands, but the difference in weight is just 5 grams, so you won’t feel any difference. The menu was also redesigned; it’s much easier for navigation then 450D, even easier than Nikon D90. The best thing about this camera is that it’s perfect for low light shooting, like sunset or any other low light situation.

Here are the most important features of Canon EOS 500D / Digital Rebel T1i Digital Camera with 18-55mm lens:
- 15.1 Megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor, so better than Nikon D90 or Canon 450D
- Full HD movie recording with HDMI connection for viewing and playback on an HDTV
- ISO 100-3200 (expandable to 12800)
- 3.4 frames per second of continuous shooting
- Maximum 170 large JPEG images in a single burst
- 3.0” ClearView LCD with Live View mode
- 9-point wide area AF with cross type centre point
- High speed DIGIC 4 performance and superb image quality
- EOS Integrated Cleaning System
- Full compatibility with Canon EF and EF-S lenses and EX-series Speedlites, including new Speedlite 270EX, TS-E 17mm f/4L and TS-E 24mm f/3.5L II

We mentioned the new Speedlite 270EX flash gun, you see on the picture that this flash gun can be moved around, giving you perfect light for any position. Of course it fits perfectly on Canon EOS 500D.

The new enhanced DSLR movie mode offers great video. The resolution of your video recording will be:
- 1080p at 20fps
- 720p at 30fps
- VGA at 30fps
All formatted in MOV. Extension, but you will get a software with your Canon EOS 500D in which you can convert your videos to other formats. For picture resolution, this is the part you are going to love:
- 4752 x 3168
- 3456 x 2304
- 2353 x 1568

So basically we have a great competitor here in Canon EOS 500D / Digital Rebel T1i Digital Camera with 18-55mm lens. Not only does this camera have almost every function better than Nikon D90 but it’s quite cheaper. The basic price range for a Canon EOS 500D is from $840 to $1500, which is quite lower than the price for Nikon D90. So keep your eye out on price compare because you might find Canon EOS 500D for the price you can afford, and this camera is something you don’t want to miss.

Olympus µ TOUGH-8000 Digital Camera is made for people that love the extreme. Everything about this digital camera is made for the extreme conditions. Starting from temperature to pressure it can take, and the best part about this high durability digital camera is that it’s not expensive. Just imagine what you can do with this camera, not only is it good for those who find themselves in extreme conditions, it’s also good for the clumsy ones like me. I broke two of my cell phones sitting on them; I won’t have to worry about that with this digital camera.

Olympus µ TOUGH-8000 Digital Camera can withstand and function normally at -10 degrees Celsius, so if you are planning to go on a mounting trip you can feel safe knowing that this camera will not be harmed. Not just that it won’t be harmed it will function in the same way as it would on a normal temperature, so you will be sure to bring some pictures back with you.

That also goes for diving; Olympus µ TOUGH-8000 Digital Camera is waterproof. So you can take pictures underwater and if you drop it in dirt you can just wash it off. Plus Olympus µ TOUGH-8000 Digital Camera can withstand falling from 6 and a half feet no problem. So if you drop it, forget it in snow through the winter or accidently go for a bath with this camera in your pocket you have nothing to worry about, the camera will be safe.

So far we know that this camera is great for extreme conditions but Olympus µ TOUGH-8000 Digital Camera is not a bad camera when it comes to technical details. Quite the contrary, for the money you will pay for this digital camera you are getting more than your money’s worth. Olympus µ TOUGH-8000 Digital Camera has a 12.7 megapixel resolution, 2.7 inch LCD display, 3.6x optical zoom, digital zoom 5x and it’s light as a feather, it weighs 0.18kg. This digital camera has an auto focus function, but the bad part is that its default resolution is only 600 * 480, for the pictures, for a video it can record in 320 * 240 that places this recording in AVI format. Now the thing you need to remember that this is a camera for extreme conditions, you can buy a camera that will have a great picture and video recording but try using it underwater or at -10C; you will end up with a broken camera. This camera also has 45mb memory but you can upgrade that with a memory card.

All in all this is an all around camera for a special sort of people, the adventures one. Or like I said for all those clumsy people like me, the only thing you need to do is find the right price and you can go climb the Mount Everest, and you can get Olympus µ TOUGH-8000 Digital Camera for as low as $320 if you know where to look.

With Nikon D90 Digital Camera with 18-105mm lens you will get 90% of Nikon D300. That probably doesn’t mean anything to an amateur photographer but to a semi pro or professional photographer that means everything. Knowing that you can get a Nikon D90 Digital Camera for $1200 to $2100 depending on the accessories is everything to a photographer comparing how much a D300 costs.

Nikon D90 Digital Camera with 18-105mm lens

A Nikon D90 Digital Camera has 12.9 megapixel DX-format CMOS sensor which means it has 12.3 million effective pixels. But let us not get too technical straight away, to put it simply you have a great resolution and for a person that is not so familiar with cameras all you need to know that this baby has every option possible so you won’t need to use Photoshop to correct your images. One big addition which is considered as a controversy is that Nikon D90 Digital Camera has a video mode.

Nikon D90 Digital Camera with 18-105mm lens

Basically this is the first camera that has video mode. While some may argue that this is bad I disagree. The Nikon D90 Digital Camera hasn’t lost its value as a camera; it only gained an option for a video recording. It allows its user to shoot a video clip in high resolution (1280*720), a 5 minute clip or in smaller resolution (600*480), a 20 minute video recording. That is in fact great, because not only can you take fabulous pictures with Nikon D90 Digital Camera, you can also make a little video recording and I consider that as a bonus.

Nikon D90 Digital Camera with 18-105mm lens

Nikon D90 Digital Camera is made for easy use, and for all those people that are used to a Nikon camera they will manage this one in a second. And those that haven’t had contact with a Nikon camera won’t be baffled, because Nikon D90 Digital Camera is very easy to use. It has a simple menu and everybody that knows how to read can figure it out. It’s also made to fit perfectly into your hand and all the buttons are in the right place making it even easier for use.

Nikon D90 Digital Camera with 18-105mm lens

About the technical issues of the Nikon D90 Digital Camera the most important fact every photographer will find appealing is that this camera has 12 megapixel CMOS sensor which is used in every professional camera. It has a high resolution 3 inch LCD screen with the option of live view and dust removal system; it has a bigger screen, the same as D300 and 4.5 frames per second continuous shooting which is great.

Nikon D90 Digital Camera with 18-105mm lens

With all that and the worlds first DSLR movie mode the Nikon D90 Digital Camera is a must buy for every professional and every aspiring photographer that wants the professional quality for a lower price. The upgraded D80 version has 90% options that D300 has and it costs much less. And according to “What Digital Camera” magazine it is a great digital camera which they gave a 91% gold award. So if you trust the professionals this is really an opportunity you shouldn’t pass.

With the crash of world economy many households throughout Australia have felt some hardships with the increasing rate of mortgage repayments. Not only have the mortgage repayments increased once, but they have increased several times and it looks as though they will increase again in February. It is expected that the average monthly repayments will increase up-to $30 per month per household. So with such an increase in repayments happening throughout Australia, Aussie Home Loans have come up with a great idea of offering a free service which is the 1 minute mortgage explorer.

One minute mortgage explorer is basically a self explanatory term; it’s used by people to find out better mortgage deals for new home purchases or to find a better deal for their already existing mortgage. It is the same as looking for car quotes except you use a mortgage comparison service that allows you to find the best mortgage deal there is, and a good mortgage deal can save you thousands of dollars. One minute mortgage explorer is special because it finds the best deal for your new or existing mortgage in less than a minute. This is how this new helper for your mortgage problems works.

If you are looking for a new home loan all you have to do is give a few information like how much can you borrow or the loan amount you can afford, and the price of the property you wish to purchase. Then you just check the area where you live and click submit, after that you will have a list of top 10 deals from possible hundred for your new home loan. And these information’s about the possible deals are initial minimum monthly repayment and the interest rate for your loan. You can always filter that search by checking or un-checking the desired fields like variable rate, fixed rate, full doc, if the redraw is available and if lump sum or additional repayments are available. After that you will have practically dozen of offers for your new home loan you can choose from, and you can at any time request an appointment to check your options in full.

The same goes if you are looking to find a better deal for your existing loan. One minute mortgage explorer lets you fill in the fields, in this case with addition to your existing rate, your minimum monthly payment and how often do you pay. After that you have the same list of better offers you can choose from.

Keep in mind that one minute mortgage explorer allows you to narrow your search and to become aware of all the offers, because a mortgage loan is a serious loan that should be approached carefully with all the aspects taken in consideration. So the use of one minute mortgage explorer is useful to make the right choice in choosing your mortgage deal.

However my recent purchase of a JVC Camcorder has changed my perspective of on-line shopping. With a saving of over 50%, I will never be silly enough to buy a product off the shelf in a store ever again! On-line shopping Rules! ...read more »...

Just how much money can you save while shopping on-line? Here is an example of just how much money I saved when shopping on-line for a Christmas present. I was looking for a Camcorder as a gift to my wife for Christmas and I thought I would pop down to the local WOW Sight and Sound Store. I found a camera I liked, which was a little JVC Everio with a 60GB Hard Drive, it had a Konica Minolta Lens and lots of little cool features such as a one push button YouTube upload. I thought that this was a great little Camcorder, and it was within my budget of $650.

When I go to buy things, I always give my self a cooling off period. What I mean by this is that I find the item I like then I leave it for about one to five days. If after this cooling off period where I’ve had a chance to really think if this is the item I want, I return to the store to purchase the item. As always, I had a look at the Camcorder, decided in the shop that I liked it and wanted it, remembered the model number and left the store. When I got home I thought that I would check out the prices on-line. So I went to PriceCompare.com.au. I typed in the make and model number of the camcorder, and sure enough the JVC 60GB HDD Everio Camcorder was returned with about 12 stores listing their price.

I could not believe the price difference, sure enough, I could see that Ted’s Cameras and the Camera Store were up around the same price as WOW Sight and Sound, which was $650. However, there were two or three stores that were selling exactly the same camcorder for under $300. I could not believe it, and was immediately skeptical. I found it hard to trust the store that was selling a camcorder that was over 50% cheaper than their competitors. I’ve also never really been fond of purchasing expensive items over the internet. However, I thought to myself, why not, take a risk and just purchase it. What’s the worst that can happen, I lose $300! So I did exactly that, I purchased the Camcorder on-line.

It took just under 3 days for the Camcorder to arrive, so I had it in-time to give to my wife for Christmas. The camera is excellent quality and “is exactly the same” as the one that was in WOW Sight and Sound. My wife is now happily uploading videos to YouTube of our 7 month old boy playing, and I’m happily playing my Xbox 360 that I bought only because of the $350 that we saved on the Camcorder.

Now that I know I can get items for over 50% less than the big retailers, I will always check Price Comparison sites and do my shopping on-line.
